Goals vs. Intentions

I use to love setting goals for myself. At the start of every year and at regular intervals I’d sit down and write out where I wanted to be in the future, all the things I wanted to accomplish.
I’ll earn $xxx per month, I’ll be driving a Tesla and living in a mansion. I’ll only work 2 hours per day and my hair will be long and my body will be fit & healthy and I’ll be speaking fluent Portuguese.
The problem with Goals is that, if you don’t accomplish them within the timeframe, there’s this feeling of failure. And the thing with life is, it doesn’t always go as per your plan. The way you thought you mgt get to goal might not be the best way of getting there and obstacles may op up and hinder your progress.
It’s great to have a lofty dream, but in order to keep myself motivated in the case I didn’t get there in the timing I had hoped for, now I set them as intentions.
I INTEND to have enough money to pay for everything that I want to do. I INTEND to travel, I INTEND to get a new car, etc etc.
By setting intentions, not only do you leave the HOW open to the Universe to come though in the best possible way for you, you also leave yourself open to something better happening. AND, if it doesn’t all go the way you wanted, that’s fine because it was an intention. Not a goal. You didn’t fail.
As with everything, it’s all about perception. If you set yourself a goal you can perceive yourself to fail it. If you set your self an intention that all you can possibly to do is move towards it, ie progress.
Progress vs. failure.
